Right in the Action

New Experiences at Shred Fest SLC 2.0

This year I was hired to be one of the official photographers for Milosport’s “SLC Shred Fest 2.0” at Liberty Park. I was really excited for this opportunity because as a festival it was right up my alley as a photo gig, but it also offered something completely new: high speed action.

The annual kick off to the winter sports season is characterized by three main attractions: live music, lumberjack competitions, and a rail jam.

While the entire festival was great to photograph, I found the rail jam to be my surprise favorite. To be completely honest,  I had never done much in the world of action sports photography. That’s not to say this was a professional sports event by any means — it was on a small hill in a park in the middle of the city after all — but that taste of an experience was enough to ensure my camera finds its way on the slopes this winter!

This is a gallery of some of my favorite shots from the ski and snowboard competition. You can find the rest of my Shred Fest photos here.
